Happy Birthday Mom!

Saturday was my moms bday!!! Chelsea and I made her dinner at my house and had a little family party :) My grandparents came and my brother, Derek, suprised my mom by coming down from Austin. We had a great time. The menu was fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, mac & cheese, deviled eggs and rolls. Chelsea made this to die for chocolate cake - oh my yum!

I could never tell you just how amazing my mom is - she is my best friend. We have some of the best laughs together and most of the time I don't even have to tell her what I'm thinking, because she already knows. She has always been a rock in not only my life but my family. We all have such extreme personalities that she has always been kindof like the middle man - keeping us all sane and from killing each other ha :) I really don't know what we would do without this amazing woman in our lives - i love you mom!

Ooo La La Vacation

2 weeks ago Alexx and I went down to Possum Kingdom to my parents time share at The Cliffs. I absolutely LOVE this place - we have had it for a few years now and every time I go I love it more and more. We met my parents and Chelsea and Mike down there for the weekend. We had a great time of doing absolutely nothing! During the day Chelsea, mom and I would lay out by the pool, take afternoon naps, or read books. At night we would all get together for dinner and then late night card games. It was perfect. Every night Chelsea and I would stay up way to late talking and laughing. It was so nice to go and completely relax - I can never just sit and relax at my house because there is always a project that needs to get done...it is sometimes never ending and even if I try to sit and enjoy a little TV or reading -  the cleaning, the laundry or the latest project is in the back of my mind nagging me. Alexx and I came back on Sunday, and then Wednesday morning I went back down there by myself (my parents were staying the whole week) My grandparents came down Wednesday and we went to the cute little town square of Graham and had lunch and did some shopping. The rest of the week my parents and I had some great quality time together :) I know I promised to take lots of pictures, but I was so busy doing absolutely nothing that I failed miserably at this task. I did get a picture of the lake though - this was taken from our resort.

There is something about Texas, summer and the lake that just goes together perfectly!

Can I please punch someone in the face?

Just a quick post  - its been a long day and I still have about 2 hours to go. Good news is today is my Friday - I'm heading back to Possum Kingdom tomorrow morning to be with my parents until Friday morning :) I definitely need to leave - I had to deal with Chase and Zoeys mother today and she seriously makes me want to scream. She is just really immature and childish and it makes me just want to cry for those kids. (bleh) It also makes me really sad when I see people who have kids who are just don't cherish them - but yet me and a ton of other women out there would do anything to become a mom, but yet for some reason can't. Its painful. Some days I am totally fine and other days I can hardly even watch a commercial about babies without crying. I really have come to terms with the fact that I may never have a baby, but it still hurts none the less. 

Ok enough depressing talk.

We all know I have a warped sense of humor so let me just share with you a picture that gave me a good laugh this afternoon - it was exactly what I needed ;)

I'm taking my camera with me tomorrow so be prepared for a good ole post next week

Is it Fall Yet?

You can all rest assured that my brother did not kill me (see post below), but sadly my whole reason for being a horrible blogger is that I have been so busy - and if I'm not busy then I'm melting cause its been freaking HOT here! Yesterday I got in my car and this is what it said:

The heat is awful - I've never been a huge summer fan but this year I really have not enjoyed much of it. I do not like to be hot - unless I'm at the beach - then bring on the sun! But I'm not at the beach, the closest beach is 4 hours away...its Galveston..and umm its not very pretty.

Sunday we celebrated my pawpaws 78th birthday!!!! I absolutely love this man with all my heart. He is one of my hero's and I really have no idea what I{or the rest of my family for that matter}would do without him. He has been such a solid rock in my life, I use to live next door to my grandparents when I was little and every day I would spend most all day at their house, then every evening my pawpaw would put me on his shoulders and take me back home :) He taught me how to fish and ride a 4 wheeler, he has taught me about hard work and perseverance. He has always loved me unconditionally and has never made me feel like less than a princess. He has stories that would fascinate you, and advice on life that will change your way of thinking. I could never convey how much I love my pawpaw, but trust me he is one of the most amazing men you will ever meet.

One of his gifts was some lottery cards - and he won $50.00! Its always a proud moment in the family when you win money from gambling haha

That's all I have for today - I'm leaving tonight for Possum Kingdom Lake with the family - cant wait...umm I still need to pack....
