My Cleaning Tips

Let me tell you I HATE cleaning showers, especially the one in the my bedroom - it has a glass door. I have tried SO many things  - I have spent countless hours looking at products at the store and online to make this task easier...nothing I used seem to help that much. One day I had a friend call last minute to say she was heading over and I had to do a mad dash of cleaning. I had just colored my hair the night before so my shower looked like someone had possibly been murdered in there ha. I had no shower cleaner on hand - I was frantic so I grabbed what I had and a miracle happened! Something I had been buying for years was the miracle I had been looking for! What is it?

I know you think im crazy, but I promise you - I used the Clorox REGULAR (non bleach) toliet bowl cleaner  - I squirted it all over the walls and glass door and then let it sit for about 10 - 15 minutes and when I came back all the grossness literally wiped off. I still had to scrub certain areas a little bit but NOTHING like I had to do in the past! I have since tried the Lysol brand as well and it works well too. I have since gone crazy seeing what all this little gem can clean and let me tell you - ALOT. One of my favorites was a friend of mine had a big rust spot on the side of her house (ON WHITE BRICK) from where a pipe had busted. She tried everything to get that rust off and nothing worked- she tried the Clorox trick and it worked like a charm :)

Here are a few more I use on a normal basis:

1. Use baking soda as a carpet powder - just sprinkle all over - let sit up to 20 minutes and then vacuum up - not only does it neutralize smells but it also helps pull up pet hair (and its cheap!)

2. I always keep a spray bottle filled with equal parts white vinegar and water - its a great cleaner for the kitchen or for bad smells!

3.Use newspaper when cleaning glass or mirrors instead of rags or paper towels - newspaper works way better!

Spring Break

 

Well now that im a adult (a old adult I might add - 28 years old today! eek!) I no longer get to have "Spring Breaks" but I did get to have a spring day! ha Sunday I went out to my grandparents lake house, they were there along with my Aunt Danielle and my cousin Lesley. We have been going to the lake every since I was a little girl. We use to spend every 4th of July there and all my aunts, uncles and cousins would come down for a few days and we would have the best times! Sadly, as we have gotten older, we have all become so busy that we rarely get to go down there...and I dont even remember the last time the ENTIRE family was there. That's one reason why I was so excited to go on Sunday and spend the night, i love anything that has to do with family and this place always reminds me of such wonderful memories. Ive been a little down lately and this trip was so great - I had so much fun and it was just so peaceful. I really wished I could of stayed longer! ha Here are a few pictures from my little road trip

Thank you Jesus that its Friday! It has been a crazy week. I shot my first wedding Saturday - it went well! I'm relived its over though - I was stressing over it ha. It was a good learning experience - things went great, but there are things I know to change next time.

Spring cleaning has begun at my house! I couldn't handle the grossness anymore! ha This week I have shampooed carpets, thrown bags and bags of trash (old clothes, shoes, half empty bottles of product, etc) away, washed curtains, and did a MAJOR dusting! It feels so good to have a clean place - I always say "A Clean House, Makes a Happy Home!" haha It really does stress me out when things are dirty, call me a bit OCD that's fine.

I dropped Gizzy Gizmo off at the groomers this morning - its a new groomer whom someone recommended. Poor thing he was so scared! I cant wait to see him - he was looking outta control. My mawmaw is coming to the office today to take me out for my birthday lunch! whahoo! I could care less about having a bday lunch (who wants to celebrate 28?!?) but im always so excited to see my mawmaw - she is seriously one of my most favorite people ever. Then tonight Alexx gets Zoey - haven't seen her since Christmas :)

Well I survived the wedding! It was absolutely gorgeous and my sister was STUNNING! We had such a great time, but boy oh boy i am just now feeling recovered. Although, I am STILL behind at work and my house is probably in the worst shape its ever been in (I am going to start cleaning tonight!) In other news - its be most gorgeous day in North Texas and I have been stuck behind a computer all day. bleh. I noticed this week that my entire neighborhood has decided its time to start mowing our lawns - I didn't get the memo. Why are we starting so soon, can we not push this back a few more weeks??!?! Now I look like the trashy one of the neighborhood with a few bunches of weeds and some dead flower beds. Im sure I will hear from the home owners association over it too! ha
I turn 28 in less than 2 weeks - omg - 28! I don't ven really care to celebrate - its rather depressing to me. I thought about just having some close friends over for a crawfish boil in the backyard (plus that would motivate me to do yardwork) BUT I have these nasty little honey bees in my back yard - they have built what im sure is a HUGE comb in the back wall of the house, I can not get rid of them! I have tried so many different sprays its unreal! If anyone has a suggestion on how to kill these dang bees PLEASE tell me. Its illegal to kill them actually but im to the point of I DONT CARE! Please any ideas/info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

So I am shooting my first wedding on Saturday! I am SO SO nervous! I went and bought a new flash last night and have been playing with it some - so that has made me feel a little better! Y'all wish me luck and say a little prayer for me on Saturday afternoon!
